Barun Deb Chatterjee (5.1.33-17.6.18) was the retired Director of the School of Tropical Medicine, Calcutta. He was famous for his path-breaking research work on bacterial diarrhoea. He was awarded the D.Sc. degree and four gold medals in recognition of his contribution to science. Quiet, soft spoken, and a firm believer in God, he was a role model for the generations to come. His loss is mourned by Ranu (wife), Jayanta (son), Abhijit (son), Bitasta (daugnter-in-law), Anuradha and Aditya (grand children).

Mr. Manoj Kumar Dutta Chowdhury passed away on January 25, 2018 at his residence in Kolkata. He is survived by his only son, Dr. Saurabh Dutta Chowdhury and daughter-in-law, Debjani. He will be remembered dearly and missed by his family and friends.
